Porsche 911 for Sale
Few cars have stayed this recognisable for this long. The 911 has kept its engine behind the rear axle since 1964, and almost every generation since has been chased by collectors as well as drivers. That makes this page unusual: an air-cooled classic and a new 992 can sit side by side, and the price gap between them is about generation and variant more than condition. The air-cooled era runs to the 993, which ended in 1998; the 996 brought water cooling, followed by the 997, 991 and today's 992. Within each, Carrera, Targa, Turbo and GT models trade very differently. Before you buy, establish the generation and variant, whether the gearbox is manual or PDK, and what the service records show; on 996 and early 997 cars, ask about the intermediate-shaft bearing. Our comparison of the 991.2 and 992 and our pre-purchase inspection guide go further.
